About Us

About Sword and Serpent

Sword and Serpent Oasis is a chartered body of Ordo Templi Orientis (O.T.O.) located in the Valley of Dayton, Ohio. We are a community of men and women united in our pursuit of the knowledge and accomplishment of our “True Will”, defined as the one perfect and unique path for each individual. We are focused on the active embodiment of Thelema, in line with the principles of O.T.O. Our goals are to propagate and promote the principles of Thelema, to provide a gateway towards initiation into the O.T.O. for those who seek it, and to devote our activities to education and practice. To this end, we regularly celebrate the Gnostic Mass, our central public ritual, and we also sponsor classes and other opportunities for learning and fellowship among the initiates.

Sword and Serpent Oasis provides fraternity for those who are interested in Thelema, magic and occult knowledge, respecting and supporting its members in their own individual spiritual quest no matter what religious, political or creative efforts they feel necessary to pursue that quest. The uniting purpose may best be summed up with a quote from our Gnostic Mass, “the accomplishment of your true wills, the Great Work, the Summum Bonum, true wisdom and perfect happiness”.

Sword and Serpent Oasis is ever committed to providing the tools and techniques that offer empowerment to the individual, leading to self-transformation according to one’s individual will. These tools include informative workshops, discussions, lectures, group ritual, and the individual use of Sword and Serpent facilities. We also offers to our members the fraternity, inspiration and training that is necessary to explore their true wills, to work that Will both within themselves and in the world.
